"Naisip mo rin ba how much you've failed to let Pisay shape you?

I am a Pisay-Diliman graduate,and proud of it because I valued every single Pisay moment I had. Tried to learn as much from them. Your rationalization was simply unfair, as if Pisay didn't even lift a finger to educate you socially. You make it sound like all Pisay cared about was science.

I feel sorry for you that you weren't able to maximize the potential of Pisay. Were you expecting the school to spoonfeed you the issues and how to react to these issues? Dun pa lang,immature na ang approach mo.

I am also a UP student now,pero hindi ako na-culture shock, and I owe that to Pisay.

You say that the main factor why we choose our courses is money.

Have you tried counting how many Pisay graduates are in the academe? Ilang teachers sa Pisay-Diliman ang alumni? Ilang UP professors/instuctors/lecturers ang Pisay graduate? And if you say they're after monetary incentives...I don't know what to say anymore.

Your batchmates are not the only representative of the Pisay community. For almost 50 years, Pisay has been shaping scholars of the nation...for the nation. It's unfair for the other alumni who are socially bred otherwise.

Try watching Pisay the Movie by Aureus Solito (a Pisay-Diliman graduate), baka ma-enlighten ka.

I am happy for you na may natutunan ka from your Socio10 class. But I pity you dahil wala kang natutunan sa Pisay.

'Wag mo na lang ipagkalat na Pisay graduate ka...respeto na lang sa 'min."

Marami pa sana akong gusto i-point out sa kanya e:

1) The meaning of nationalism and its relation to activism. Hindi ibig sabihin na kapag hindi ka aktibista, hindi ka nationalistic/patriotic. Ganun din kung wala ka sa bansa. Others seek higher income to establish themselves first. Para magkaron ng boses,ika nga. ('Wag nyo kong awayin, let's face reality, pinipili ang pinapakinggan.)

2) Hindi lang sa science magaling ang Pisay. E ang bobo ko nga sa Science at Math (lalo na) e. Pero lahat ng GE ko 1.75 and above. Hehe. Mayabang. (Majors ko.. 2.00 and below. Hahahaha). 'Yung mas magandang proof dito.

Ma'am Bea Torre - Pisay Batch 2000, instructor ko ng SocSci3. Brilliant mind.

Ma'am Jamasali - Pisay Batch 1997 (ayan,binago ko na. Ü), one of the best English teachers sa Pisay-Diliman

Aureus Solito - Pisay Batch 1985 (or '86?), accomplished director. Has won numerous awards for his films both here and abroad.

Atom Araullo (nag-google pa ako para sa spelling ng apelyido nya) - Pisay Batch 2000, TV host, journalist, activist.

Arnee Hidalgo - Pisay Batch 1990ish, singer

Jeffrey Hidalgo - Pisay Batch 1990ish, singer, actor

Gen. Hermogenes Esperon - Pisay Batch 1970ish, Armed Forces of the Philippines Chief of Staff

Ivy Razel Ventura - Pisay Batch 2007, princess

Ano pa bang proof gusto niya.

3) Hindi direct ang pagmumulat ng Pisay sa students about nationalism and socialism. Tama at may SocSci at Val. Ed tayo. At ayon pa nga sa isang paslit na nagreply dun sa nakakairita/nakakalungkot na blog...may dyaryo daw tayo sa library. (Tanong mo naman kung ilan nagbabasa,'pag hindi required)

Hindi ako nagbabasa ng diyaryo routinely. Pero hindi ibig sabihin wala akong pakialam. Ayoko lang binobother ang sarili ko sa mga bagay na wala naman akong magagawa. (ie. pagtaas ng presyo ng gas,bigas,baboy,baka,laman ng tao; corruption, etc.) Pero dun sa mga bagay na may magagawa ako, I don't stay mum. At alam 'yan ng mga taong nakapaligid sa 'kin.

Tsaka 'yung sinasabi ng iba ng dahil tinambakan tayo ng science and math subjects, parang na-hihinder tayo na makialam sa isyu ng bansa. I beg to disagree. Pag-isipan ninyong mabuti, strategic ang lahat ng kalokohan na pinaggagagawa sa 'tin sa Pisay.

Ayun. 'Yan lang 'yung nasa isip ko ngayon.
